Passionate About Passion
What are humans actually passionate about? Not one person can be passionate about the same thing and in the same degree as another. We can make relations to the intimate feelings called Passion but never feel what someone else is feeling. Helping someone when they are in need is essential for humans to be able to survive as long as we have. And due to people like the "Half4Hungry" organization people today are still being helped through the worst of times. 40% of the food Americans have is wasted. 35% of adults are obese and there is still hungry children and families dying for just a bite of food. This organization is set up to pay the full price of food at a given restaurant but you only are given half the amount of their regular size plate but then donate the money saved from only making half of the food to children and families in need of help. This organization is very helpful to people in dying need but like every other helpful organization somebody always ruins it by taking advantage of it. Last time I personally tried to help someone in need of assistance he was asking for money so he could feed himself. So I instead of giving him money went to McDonalds that was right around the corner and bought him two burgers brought them back to him. He looked at me in disgust because he didn't actually need to feed himself. He wanted to money for drugs and the vodka in his bag next to him. That was the last time I attempted to help someone in need and he has ruined it for everyone else. I think that this organization is in need but there will always be greedy selfish, uneducated individuals who try and take advantage of the help that is being provided them because they are unable to support themselves.

Great post! I understand about giving food to people on the street. But when I did it, it was greatly apprieciated. I guess it just depends on the person, but we shouldn't stop trying. That's why it's great we have organizations like these!
ReplyDeleteRyan, I was so shocked by your post, it was so surprising to hear you like that. It's neat to see how you're thinking on passion. I love the first paragraph, neato
